Accessibility Statement
Last updated: 22 February 2026
Not A Standard is committed to making our website accessible to as many people as possible. Our work focuses on understanding and preventing harm — accessibility is part of that commitment.
What we've done
This website has been built with accessibility in mind. We have implemented the following measures:
- Semantic HTML structure with appropriate heading hierarchy
- Sufficient colour contrast ratios across all text and backgrounds
- Responsive design that works across screen sizes and devices
- Keyboard-navigable interface elements
- Descriptive link text and meaningful page titles
- No auto-playing media or content that flashes
- Forms with associated labels and clear input descriptions
Standards
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. As a small team, we are working toward full conformance and welcome feedback on areas where we can improve.
Known limitations
We are aware that the dark-background TFA Matrix section uses a data-dense layout that may be challenging with some assistive technologies. We are working on alternative formats for this content.
Content considerations
Some of the subject matter on this site discusses domestic and family violence, coercive control, and interpersonal harm. This content is presented in a clinical, research-oriented context. If you find any content distressing, support is available through 1800RESPECT (1800 737 732) or Lifeline (13 11 14).
Feedback
If you encounter accessibility barriers on this site, or have suggestions for improvement, we'd like to hear from you. Please contact us at hello@notastandard.org with details of the issue and we will work to address it.
